You might have heard that a little game called Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has dropped, but what you might have missed is the Call of Duty experience that is free as a PlayStation VR bonus. Titled Jackal Assault, the downloadable game is exclusively for VR and is available regardless of whether players purchased Infinite Warfare. Did we mention that it’s free? Because it is.
Jackal Assault, according to Activision, “immerses you in the cockpit of a Jackal, the personal, multi-role fighter jet.” In other words, it’s a space fighter simulator1.
YouTube’s Man vs. VR shared his experience with the game, which you can check out below. Right off the bat, he states that he thinks this is the best looking game on VR thus far.
“Jackal Assault ends up delivering visuals that are par with the HTC VIVE and Oculus Rift and it really shows that with due time the PSVR will remain a top contender with the main HMD’s on the market. This Experience alone shows that the PSVR is here to stay and can only get better as time goes by,” he states.

Here’s another entertaining look at the game, courtesy of YouTube’s SSSniperWolf, who has some hilarious reactions to the gameplay:
The game appears to be quite short as it seems to just be a single mission2. It does appear to be entertaining and a fun little diversion, as well as a cool intro to the game for those who didn’t purchase Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Those who have played it have likened it to Star Wars Battlefront‘s VR mission and the VR version of EVE: Valkyrie, so that’s also fairly high praise.
