Rich Batman Fan Builds Awesome Replica Of Bruce Wayne’s Garage

The Caped Crusader would be proud.

At one point or another, most men1 have fantasized about being Batman. But one wealthy fan took that fantasy to a whole new level by constructing a replica of Bruce Wayne’s secret garage2 from The Dark Knight (2008) underneath his3 home.

Footage of the garage and its construction can be seen in the following video from Gentside:

The project was undertaken by the Australian architecture firm Molecule, and aimed to seamlessly blend the secret garage into an existing estate. In order to do so, the firm chose to hide the lair underground, just like Bruce Wayne. They even nicknamed the estate, which is located near the city of Melbourne, “the Wayne Residence.”

“The house in its existing state was beautifully sited and scaled on its grounds,” the firm’s website states. “We felt that any increase in visual bulk would injure this balance and a commitment was made to treat the garaging as a ‘shadow’, concealing it in basement format below the existing tennis court and gardens.

Since the garage is underground, the architects chose to conceal the ramp beneath the estate’s tennis courts. A hydraulic lid beneath the court opens and closes to allow access.

The final result was an amazing replica of Bruce Wayne’s garage that didn’t disturb the architectural aesthetic of the existing home.
